Vision and Desire

Vision and Desire
The Power of A Vision
Joshua 14:10-11 AMP

10 And now, look, the Lord has let me live, just as He said, these forty-five years since the Lord spoke this word to Moses, when Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, [a]look at me, I am eighty-five years old today. 11 I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now, for war and for going out and coming in.

When the 12 spies came back from spying the land, 2 of them Joshua and Caleb brought a good report while the rest had a bad report that instilled fear in the hearts of the people and they did not enter the land. Caleb is given a promise in Numbers 14:24 that he shall be given the land they spied and he and his descendants will take possession of it.
He was given a vision, a picture of what was to come but now 40 years had passed and the vision was yet to be a reality. The amazing thing is that Caleb had not lost his desire for the vision. Here he is 85 years and he says he is still strong as he was 40 years ago when Moses sent him to go spy the land. Its not like the land is empty and he will just walk in and take possession, no! the land has inhabitants that he must conquer, but he has such a zeal and desire for what God declared that at 85 he is ready to go in and conquer.
The 40 years of waiting had not eroded his desire, he was still raging hot as he was 40 years ago. You and I also must maintain such a high desire and spiritual vitality if we are to pursue Gods vision over our lives!
The thing about desire is that when we delight ourselves in the Lord, when all we want is to walk with him and please him then even the desires of our hearts will align with his and he will grant us the desires of our hearts.
May our period of waiting to see the vision become a reality not kill our desire to attain it in Jesus name!
Reflections
What is that thing that God promised you that is yet to come to fruition? how long has it been?
