Teamwork
Teamwork
Lessons from the Ant
Proverbs 6:6-8 NKJV
Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.
It is said that size does not matter, teamwork does. Think about this; what is the perspective of the world from an ant’s perspective? Everything is humongous, but this does not intimidate the ant.
A single Ant can carry quite some load but when it teams up with other ants then there is an explosion of exponential potential. Ants always work together as a team and because they do, they are able to build huge and deep anthills. As it is said, many hands make work light.
Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
As believers in Christ, we are one body and we are meant to work together as one unit to maximize our effectiveness. Hebrews tells us to consider how we can spur one another towards love and good deeds. Just like the ants which work together and consistently encourage one another to keep the work going, so should we.
There are no lone rangers in the kingdom of God. We have all been given different gifts by the Holy Spirit in order for us to serve one another and work together as a unit.
Reflections
Do you work better alone or when you are with a team?

What is the greatest hindrance the church must overcome in order to work as one body?

Team work begins with each individual, are you a team player or a lone ranger.
