Serve Him

If you love Jesus you will serve Him.
John 12:26 (AMP)
26 If anyone serves Me, he must [continue to faithfully] follow Me [without hesitation, holding steadfastly to Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]; and wherever I am [in heaven’s glory], there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

Servant of God is a name we use for those who have been called into the fivefold ministry but in essence, everyone who is born again is a servant of God. If you and I love Jesus then we will serve Him. How do we serve Him because He is not here physically? We serve Him by walking in obedience to his will for our lives. The bible says that to obey is better than sacrifice.

God has a plan and a purpose for you and I and the best way to serve Him is to connect with that purpose and walk in obedience to fulfil it. Think about this, when you go into a restaurant, you take a seat and you expect the waiter to come and SERVE you. Imagine if you asked for some nice fried chicken and the waiter came back with some boiled vegetables because that’s what he thinks is best for you. How would you respond to that? Would you give a great review and say the restaurants service was good? I am sure you would not because they were not there to serve you but rather to serve themselves.
Don’t we all treat God in the same way from time to time? We go to Him not to serve Him but for Him to serve us. We do not connect with Him long enough to know and understand what His will and purpose is instead we go to Him with a list of what we want.
When the appointed time for Jesus came, He had to serve Gods purpose even though it was a struggle, not my will by yours be done.
Are you walking in obedience to Gods will or are you like Jonah running away in the opposite direction?

Take out;
If you love Jesus you will serve Him and this will be demonstrated by walking in obedience to His will. Like Joshua you will be able to say, “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
Remember;
Work hard and do not be lazy. Serve the Lord with a heart full of devotion. (Romans 12:11)
