Necessary Internal Shifts: A Shift in Message
James 5:7-8 (NKJV)
Be Patient and Persevering
7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord [a]is at hand.
God is good all the time and that is true. He is also a God of love, in fact, he is love. He loves us so much that he sent Jesus to die for us so that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. Gods desire is to bless his children and he continues to do so.
If there is one message that is loved today, it is the message of how much God will bless us. This generation has reduced the blessing of God to things and all you have to do today is to look the part and promise people that God will bless them from here till Timbuktu and you will have an auditorium full of people with itchy ears.
We must get back to preaching holiness without which no one will see God. As James tells us we must establish our hearts for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
Jesus is coming back and we must ensure that we are ready for his second coming a message that is real preached in this generation.
Listen to what Jesus said about his second coming;
Matthew 24:37-39 (KJV)
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
I cannot imagine what Noah must have gone through trying to warn people that a flood was coming yet it seemed like they did not care. The longer it took the more they did not believe but alas one day the heavens were opened and the floods came.
In the same way some have said that this Jesus we keep talking about for ages has never come, maybe he is just but a myth. Well, none the less we keep preaching the message that Jesus is coming back and we must ensure that our hearts are ready because he is coming for a church that is without spot and blemish!
Do you ever feel an urgency to tell people that Jesus is coming back soon?
Who was the last person that you told that Jesus is coming back soon and how did they react?
Are you ready for His second coming?
