Mindsets
Proverbs 23:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he [in behavior—one who manipulates].
We all have a mindset that drives us to think in a particular direction. A mindset is a collection of thoughts and beliefs that shape your habits affecting how you feel and what you do. Your mindset affects how you see life.
Think of someone with a pair of green sun glasses, everything they see will be green because it is filtered through the green sunglasses that they are wearing. The same applies to our mindsets, they create the reality that we perceive and thus determine our attitude towards life. As it is said, he who thinks he can and he who thinks he cannot, both are right; why, because your mindset determines your course of action.
Romans 12:2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be [a]transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
Transformation comes only with the renewal of the mind. To be truly change you have to acquire a new mindset which then gives you a new attitude and a you start doing things differently thus you see different results. Your mindset is the soft ware that runs your life.
As a believer, you and I have to acquire a new mind set if we are to experience all that God has for us. We have to start seeing life through the sun glasses of His word if we are to experience His power in our life. As Jesus told several people, “Your Faith has made you whole” basically meaning it is what you have believed about me that has made you whole. In his home town Jesus could not perform many miracles not because He has less power but simply because the people had a mindset of un belief! How you live your life is a demonstration of the mindset you have chosen to put on!
