Lessons from Abraham – His Place

Genesis 12:1 (AMP)
12 Now [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house, to the land that I will show you.
The first thing that God does when he calls Abraham is direct him to change his location. Gods call is attached to His place.
There is a place called “there” that the Lord has prepared for you. Back in the book of Genesis God creates the world and all that is in it and in the midst of that He prepares a garden for Adam before he creates him. That’s how important your place is, God prepares it beforehand.
When we align ourselves to God and His call over our life, then He will lead us to that place where we are to exercise His call over our lives. God is very strategic and He has everything laid out and positioning is of utmost importance. I honestly believe that sometimes we end up missing out on what God has in store for us because we fail to walk in obedience to be at the place where we need to be.
Sometimes as in the case of Joseph, God will use calamities to get us to the very place that we need to be at the appointed time. Joseph had a calling to be a ruler but his place of ruler ship was in Egypt and through his brother’s hatred, God got Joseph to Egypt. But it was not just for Josephs sake, it was for the sake of a whole nation that God needed to preserve and incubate in Egypt.
You and I have to remember that God sees the end from the beginning and because of this, He knows where you need to be to experience the very best of what He has for you. Don’t just move because you want to, inquire of the Lord and allow Him to direct you in the way that you should go.
