God Working in You
Work out your salvation
Philippians 2:12-13 NIV
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
One key thing that we have learnt this week is that working out your salvation is not about Individualism but rather it’s about unity that should lead to oneness. Paul is in prison and he is urging this church to stay united and work out their salvation the same way they did while he was with them.
One key thing he points out is that it is God who works in us both to will and to act so that we fulfill His purposes. God never asks us to do what He was not already equipped us to do. Faith propels us to act because faith without works is dead. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. You and I have to believe that God is working in us and thus we have what we need to work it out. It’s not about what we feel but rather what we believe. Sometimes we fail to act because we do not feel like God has worked anything in us. Remember the just shall live by faith and not by what they feel.
The Holy Spirit is with us always and it is He who is working in us changing us from the inside and as we allow Him to do so the fruit of the Spirit becomes evident in our lives as we work it out and the very nature of Christ is then manifest in our life.
God has equipped us from the inside, the very nature of Christ is in us but ultimately we have the choice to demonstrate it as we work it out.
Take out;
You and I do not have to work out our own salvation with our own strength and power, God is the one working in us and giving us the power to work it out.
Remember;
Let your light shine before men that they may see your GOOD WORKS and give glory to your Father in heaven.
