God of Impossibilities
Mark 10:27 (NLT)
27 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”
The Christmas story should always remind us that we serve a God with whom nothing is impossible. He is all knowing, all powerful and ever present the same yesterday today and forever he changes not. How can a virgin give birth to a child? In fact this was prophesied many years before by the prophet Isaiah;
Isaiah 7:14
….. The virgin[a] will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
This child was in deed born of a virgin and just as the prophet prophesied he was called Immanuel. Mary believed what the angel told her though humanly speaking she could not comprehend how that would be possible. All she said is “be it unto me according to your word”.
The bible tells us that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly far above all we could ever ask think or imagine! It only takes reading of the bible to realize that God cannot be limited or put in a box. He is the same God who spoke the universe into being. The same God who ensured that Abraham and his wife Sarah bore Isaac in their old age even though it was humanly impossible. The God who performed great and mighty signs in Egypt to secure the release of his people Israel. He is the God who fed them in the wilderness for 40 years, the God who brought down the walls of Jericho through a mighty shout.
We could go on and on because the bible is full of many examples to remind us that God can do the impossible. What He did was not just for those who lived in yester years but it is also for us. Remember God is the same yesterday today and forever.
What has God spoken to you?
Does it seem impossible and well out of reach?
Are you racking your brain trying to figure out how it will all come together?
Don’t, because that is none of your business, all you have to do is believe because as the bible says, nothing shall be impossible to them that believe. My Pastor once told me that usually when God tells you to step out and do something, it seems too expensive or unreasonable or unrealistic. Let God figure out how it will all work out just declare;
“If God say it, I believe it, and that settles it!”
