Faith and Praise
1 Samuel 2:1 (NKJV)
2 And Hannah prayed and said:
“My heart rejoices in the LORD; My [a]horn is exalted in the LORD.
[b]I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.
A person of faith is a person full of praise and thanksgiving. Remember faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Many times when you walk in faith and believe God for what seems impossible, people will ridicule you and Hannah was no exception. Her co wife would provoke her with the intention of making her life miserable.
Hannah believed God for a child and in the process she makes a vow to God and God blesses her with a son whom she names Samuel.
Hannah honors her vow to God and she takes her young son to Eli and leaves her there. Right after that we see her bursting forth in a prayer of praise unto God proclaiming His power and His faithfulness and majesty.
Walking away from little Samuel leaving him with Eli was not a very easy thing for Hannah to do and yet we see her not looking back or re thinking her vow but instead she bursts out in praise. Seemingly going back home empty handed but her heart was full of praise.
Men and women of faith are full of praise to God, not because of what they can see in the natural, but because they know the nature of the God that they have believed in. They have confidence in what their God can do.
Is you heart filled with praise or complains?
